Project Description

Urban Bazaar is a high-velocity quick commerce webapp designed to streamline the grocery supply chain. We engineered the internal "Dark Store" technology to optimize product warehousing by shelf location, ensuring rapid picking and packing. Our team focused on integrating the platform with existing POS systems to create a seamless operational flow from order receipt to delivery dispatch.

Problem

Operational inefficiency in dark stores is the primary bottleneck for quick commerce. Pickers often waste valuable minutes searching for items due to unorganized warehousing, and inventory data on the app rarely matches physical stock, leading to high order cancellation rates and frustrated customers.

  • Problem 1

Traditional warehouse layouts led to slow picking times, making "10-minute delivery" promises impossible to keep.

  • Problem 2

Inventory mismatches between the online frontend and the physical warehouse caused high order cancellation rates.

  • Problem 3

Riders faced delays due to inefficient packing and dispatch workflows during peak hours.

Solution

We developed an intelligent warehouse management system that digitizes the entire picking process. By mapping every shelf and integrating directly with the POS, the system guides staff efficiently and ensures that what the customer sees on the app is exactly what is available on the shelf.

  • Solution 1

Engineered a shelf-mapping algorithm that generates the optimal walking path for pickers, reducing prep time by 40%.

  • Solution 2

Built a real-time bi-directional sync with the client's POS, ensuring 99.9% inventory accuracy across all channels.

  • Solution 3

Developed a dedicated "Rider App" integration that auto-assigns orders based on package readiness and rider proximity.

Design Process

We follow a structured UI/UX design process focused on research, strategy, and seamless execution to create digital products that engage users and drive business results.

Workflow Scenario

The workflow begins when a customer places an order. The system instantly maps the items to specific shelf coordinates in the nearest dark store. A picker receives a sorted list on their handheld device, following an optimized path. Once packed, the system scans the QR code, instantly notifying the nearest rider for pickup, reducing the entire cycle to under 3 minutes.

The Result

The final result is a highly efficient quick-commerce ecosystem. Urban Bazaar now operates with significantly reduced overheads and faster fulfillment times. The shelf-optimization logic reduced order prep time by 40%, while the POS integration eliminated stock discrepancies, allowing the business to scale its daily order volume without operational bottlenecks.

Client feedback

We’re excited about the Äike T redesign. The team delivered a clear & intuitive experience across web and mobile, which makes it easier for users to buy or rent scooters. Their thoughtful approach to navigation, plan comparisons, and overall consistency has improved engagement and strengthened our brand’s presence in urban mobility.
